The organizational and fiscal policies for Whitney Young Child Development
Centers, Inc. are determined by a Board of Directors which meets monthly. The
Board is composed of 11 members. Board decisions consider the recommendations
of a diverse resource group which includes the Executive Director, the Management
Team, the Parent Advisory Boards, the Parent Advisory Committee and the Standing
Committees of the Board. |
| | Two seats on the Board
of Directors are reserved for parent representatives. This guarantees that our
governing process includes the input and concerns of parents. The Board of Directors
receives both written and oral reports from its Committees, the Parent Advisory
Board/Committee and the Executive Director. It reviews fiscal reports on a monthly
basis, determines the budget and sets policy. Board meetings are open to the public
except for the discussion of personnel issues. | 
Board members work dilligently discussing
the future transition of three childcare centers to the Whitney Young Family in
1999. |
