Music Teacher

I have always had a deep love for performing and a passion for teaching. In September 2007, I became part of the Whitney Young “family” as a music teacher.  This is an honor and a joy. I believe in opening up the creative spirit that is inherent in every one of us: a legacy from birth. In our society this gets buried and the young often feel that their music legacy occurs outside of themselves through the music media.

As part of that vision, I have been a music teacher at the Charles A. Tindley Music Academy for over eight years. The Academy is a replication site for the Harlem Boys Choir. Additionally, I have continued my Music Directorship at the Ingleside Presbyterian Church, a position I have held on and off for over 22 years.

I am currently the Music Director for the Swiss Singing Society of San Francisco, a position I have had for 11 years. I have been an active member of the Gregorian Chant choir that performed annually in Mexico by government invitation.

I also continue a professional career as pianist for hotels and restaurants. A peak remembrance for all time was performing in 1995 for the annual “Candlelight Christmas at the White House.”
